"I Was Sexually Harassed For A Movie Role" - Fast Rising Actress, Funmi Awelewa

Y'all know how I love to catch them young in terms of beauty and talent. Showcasing emerging talents is one of my many specialties and you all can attest to that. In this day and age, there are lots of screen divas yet to be discovered, that is why I often go out of my way to get them to open up and unveil their God given gift for the world to see. Okay, back to the moment, the beautiful lady I brought today goes by the name Funmi Awelewa, she is an actress, a model, a fashion designer, a makeup artist and the list is endless (chai, na only she waka come). She opened up about her journey into the make bleieve world and some challenges attached to it. See her chat with Mercyflawless Media below...

Oh, did I mention she released some stunning new photos? find them below and after the cut too...

Could you please introduce yourself?
I am Funmi Awelewa Babalola. I studied Library Archival and Information studies at the University of Ibadan. I am from Osun state, Iwo to be precise. I come from a family of five. Two boys and three girls. I am the second to the last born of the family.

When did you venture into acting?
I started acting August 2013.

Aside acting, what else do you do?
I have been a model long before I started acting. I am the former Miss Awelewa in Ijebu 2012. I was given the best model of the year award 2014 (MAYA). I am into Billboard and Magazine modeling. I have done several magazine jobs and adverts. I am also a Fashion designer, CEO/ Creative Director at Awelewa Couture. I have a fashion house for Bespoke tailoring in Ibadan.

How are you able to stay at the top of your game in the competitive movie industry?

By being Objective about my Goals. The star quality in any up and coming performer is more  likely an in-breed and also, with hardwork and perseverance, an achiever may be discovered.

So far, how many movies have you featured in and how many have you produced?
I have featured in close to 23 movies or more. Some of them are,  Ikoko Aje, Pepeye, Adalute, Koto, Ojubanire, Excursion, Ebu-Ika, Anikky Bento, Aruga, Ise Ile iwosan, Ropo Ijogbon and many more. And I produced a movie, titled AWELEWA. I played the role of Ibadan girl named Morili. I am also working on my next production which is coming soon.

What does fashion mean to you?

To me, Fashion means everything.

What is your take on sexual harassement in the movie industry?
I think it is very wrong

Have you ever been sexually harassed for a movie role?
Yes. And I threatened to press charges but I was adviced not to, So I let it go.

Can you act nude in a movie?
For a million dollar maybe. (Lolz)
