Ice Prince, Kcee, IK Ogbonna, Others Slam Hushpuppi, Call On EFCC To Investigate Him

Nigerians and celebrities have trooped out to slam Malaysia based Nigerian big boy, Ray Hushpuppi who is known for his display of wealth.

The recent reaction from Nigerians comes after Hushpuppi who had in the past flaunted dollar bills, expensive designers, watches and millions in club bills took to his social media page to call out Nigerian rappers, Ice Prince and Phyno noting that they flaunt fake watches.

In response, Phyno traded words with Hushpuppi and shared a photo which he claimed Hushpuppi begged him for while he was in Malaysia for a show.

Ice Prince however has also replied to the jibe thrown his way as Twitter Nigeria continues to drag the big boy whose source of wealth has been a topic of discussion.

IK Ogbonna also expressed his take on the matter as Nigerians have called for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to look into the big boy’s source of wealth.

Bishop Oyedepo Reacts To FG’s Move To Force Islamic Studies, Arabic On Christians

The General Overseer of Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo has registered his dissatisfaction with the federal government’s move to compel secondary schools in Nigeria to offer Islamic studies.

The move by the federal government comes after Nigerians and Christian associations fought against the removal of Christian Religious Knowledge, CRK, from the secondary school curriculum while keeping Arabic and Islamic studies on.

In a warning issued by the cleric after an emergency meeting held by the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, in Lagos on Thursday, Bishop Oyedepo noted that it is unjust for the federal government to make such a move.

Speaking to newsmen at the PFN Headquarters in Isolo, Lagos State, Oyedepo said the Nigerian government had no right to force subjects on anybody.

He maintained that anybody who has the aim of stopping or removing the Christian Religion Studies CRS, from the Senior Secondary School curriculum will be met with stiff opposition .

He added that once the government succeeds in eliminating the subject at the secondary school level, it will proceed to eliminate it at the tertiary level.

He added: “You cannot force our students to study Islamic Studies or Arabic Studies.”

‘90% Of The Information About Evans & His Arrest Are False’ – Abba Kyari

The highly intelligent police officer, Abba Kyari, who led the team that arrested the notorious kidnapper Evans has come out to clear more air on information shared by the media about the billionaire kidnapper kingpin.

According to him, 90% of the information are false, reports

Read below his reply to the ongoing slew of stories of Evans that have hit the airwaves recently,

‘Friends: there is a need to clear the air on some issues that are misinforming/misleading the good members of the public who are passionate about fighting crime.

1. 90 per cent of all information relating to the arrest of Evans and what Evans said that’s being shared on social media and some print media is false. Just like most Nigerians, I wake up every morning and hear different false stories on social media pertaining to how we arrested Evans and what he said or did.

2. The actual strategy and technology we used in arresting Vampire, Evans and other big kidnappers is known to only me and very few senior officers I am working together with in the FHQ. Someone Like Evans would never have been arrested based on the few techniques that were officially mentioned or those circulating in social media which are actually techniques already well known to criminals. We’ve gone ahead of those techniques. Our real strategy and technology used in picking evans and his gang members have never been mentioned to the media or members of the public, and will never be mentioned.

3) Evans faced the media twice; first, when he was paraded in the Lagos Command HQ by the force public relations officer and secondly when he took IRT detectives to his detention camps in Lagos for the world to witness him taking the police to his camps that is only known to he and his boys.

This is so that in future he cannot deny acquiring and operating kidnapper’s detention camps in Lagos.

Please I urge members of the public to focus more on what they see or hear from major newspapers and television stations who have names to protect and avoid the avalanche of lies and fictions that is coming out from blogs and social media everyday.

Yes we agree Evans is the biggest and most notorious criminal arrested during the social media age in Nigeria, but there should be some decree of decorum.

Why Northern Youths Issued Quit Notice to Igbos -Dangote

Business magnet, Aliko Dangote, has revealed that the high rate of unemployment in the country was why a coalition of youths from the north gave quit notice to Igbos.

Recall that the youth group had given a three-month ultimatum to Igbos in the northern region, citing agitation for the sovereign state of Biafra.

However, Dangote, on Saturday when a team of business executives from Lagos Business School (LBS) paid him a visit at his refinery and petrochemical projects in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, said that joblessness has created room for restiveness and anger among youths.

According to him, high rate of unemployment is the reason he does not sleep at night, not because of business ideas.

“Some guys who have no relevance and values came out to issue a warning that Igbo should leave the North. I am surprised everybody started talking about this nonsense. Why are we talking about it?” he asked.

“Obviously, in a place where there is a lot of joblessness, it is expected that this kind of jobless people would come out with all sorts of anger. We understand the reasons why they are angry, but they cannot justify their action when they have decided not to work. They only issue senseless warning to keep themselves relevant.”

Customs, Rice farmers sign MoU to stop rice smuggling

The Nigeria Customs Service and the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to stop rice smuggling through land border into the country.

Alhaji Aminu Goronyo, President Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN), disclosed this on Wednesday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

He said even though the importation of rice through the land borders was banned since April 2016 with an extension to the restriction of rice into the Nigerian market from the Export Processing Zones (EPZ), yet smugglers still engaged in the unwholesome act.

Goronyo warned Nigerians against the consumption of foreign rice, saying that most of the imported rice is stale and only meant for animal and fish feeds.

He said result of test by NAFDAC through some samples of some of the rice seizures had ascertained that smuggled rice through the land borders was unfit for human consumption.

“99 per cent of rice smuggled through the land borders are not fit for human consumption,” he said.
Goronyo said that the Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service, Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (rtd), reiterated recently at a joint meeting with RIFAN and Customs that rice importation remain banned through the land borders.

The RIFAN President said to ensure effective monitoring of the land borders, the Comptroller-General has approved a 12-man implementation committee to be headed by Assistant Comptroller-General, Alino Dangaladima.

He said Customs promised to continue to ensure the restriction of rice import through the land borders to boost local production.

He said that the Comptroller-General agreed that there was need for total ban on rice importation and effective monitoring of the land borders to stop the activities of the smugglers.

The RIFAN president added that the customs boss reinstated that any attempt to import rice through the land borders would be resisted, saying the position remain unchanged.

He said the customs told them that it had deployed more officers and men to borders to enforce the order.

Cambodian woman faces possible jail term for throwing shoe at PM’s billboard

A Cambodian woman who threw her shoe at a billboard of Prime Minister Hun Sen would face up to three years in prison if convicted, local media reported on Wednesday.
She has been charged with insulting a public official.
Sam Sokha, 38, came to the attention of authorities after she posted a video of the incident on her Facebook page in April, according to the Phnom Penh Post.

She has been in hiding for the past two months, according to the newspaper, and her daughter received a court summons on her behalf for July 5 and 6.
If found guilty, Sokha could also face a fine of up to 1,476 dollars.
Unlike many Western countries, Cambodia does not have a higher defamation threshold for insulting public officials than ordinary people.
The government frequently uses criminal defamation and incitement against opposition politicians and activists.
According to rights groups, the court system is also not considered independent and many judges maintain ties to the long-ruling Cambodian People’s Party.

“If You’re Not Happy With Your President, Vote Him Out” – Ooni Of Ife To Nigerians

One of Nigeria’s most respected traditional rulers, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has advised Nigerians to vote their president out if they are not happy with his administration.

Speaking during an interview aired on The Osasu Show, the traditional ruler noted that Nigerians should quit whinning and vote their leader out if they feel uncomfortable with his leadership and retain him if they are pleased with him.

Reminding Nigerians of their power as electorates, the Ooni of Ife said when asked what the government must fo to better the life of masses: “Why must it be government, government? Who is government? It is the people that are behind the government.

“If you are not happy with your president, you go for another election, and you will vote your president out. If you are happy with your president, you will continue with that government for them to be in power.

“Truth be told, we Nigerians don’t know our power yet. We don’t know our voting power, yet. Until we know it, we won’t stop complaining, especially the youth. Once we know it, we won’t complain again.

“My school of thought is let us, first of all, organise ourselves and let us talk positively about this country. Let us stop derogatory, hate speeches. Things that will continue to divide everybody further.”

Bureau blames scarcity of international Passport booklet on high dollar rate

The Director-General of Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Dr Joe Abah, has attributed the present scarcity of the Nigerian passports to the increase exchange rate of the dollar.

Abah made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday in Abuja,

He noted the dollar which was formerly exchanging between N150 to N160 was now N300 and above.

Abah added that the passport was not produced in Nigeria as only three companies in the world had the capacity and techniques to produce an international travel passport.

“The reason for the scarcity is because since it’s not produced in the country, Nigeria had a contract with the foreign firm to do most of the production.

“ And at the time the contract was signed, 100 dollars was worth N15,000 which is the cost of the Nigerian passport of 32 pages, the 64 pages costs N20, 000.

“So with the naira being so much against the dollar, it meant that the N15, 000 paid by individuals will only amount to 30 dollars not 100 dollars.

“So the money citizens were paying simply could not buy it anymore and government was a bit reluctant to increase the price three fold.

“Currently, the government is making efforts to look for ways to subsidise the cost until we can produce the passport in country or dollar drops.’’

According to him, it would take quite a bit of investment to have all the component of the passport produced in the country as the tread used in stitching it and paper for the leaflet was difficult to come by.

Abah said that the Federal Ministry of Interior and Nigeria Immigration Service were making efforts to ensure that the passports were produced in Nigeria to address the scarcity.

He noted that the passport would soon be produced like the drivers’ licence in the country, adding that the available passport booklets were presently being used to clear the backlog of applicants.

“A few months ago the Comptroller-General of Immigration announced that we now have passport booklets available across the country and across the world.

“ However, there had been a backlog of about six months or so people who apply newly are still waiting because they are still dealing with the people who applied before them.

“So our expectation is that in the next few months, it will ease up and we will go back to the standard timing which is supposed to be 72 hours from where all your documentation are checked and correct.

He said that the bureau had also carried out a study on the process of obtaining an international passport and driver’s licence to address the challenges.

Abah said that findings from the study revealed problem of internet, electricity as well as touting in some parts of the country.

He explained that the study was carried out through interaction with customers on their experiences and officers of the bureau going undercover to monitor operations.

Abah said that the full report was yet to be submitted to the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety and the Comptroller-General of Immigration, who had been briefed on the findings.

‘Cheating Doesn’t Make Your Husband A Bad Person, It Only Validates Him As A Man’ – Actress Funke Adesiyan

Advising Nigerian women to stop making cheating an issue, Nollywood actress Funke Adesiyan has taken to Instagram to tell women that cheating doesn’t make your male partner a bad person, but only validates him as a man.

According to the actress, women should look beyond the flaw of cheating, and focus on the way their men treat them. Here’s what she wrote;

“Leaving a man because he cheats is like relocating from Nigeria to America because of rain. News flash: it rains everywhere. Find a good man who loves you and appreciates you. Every other thing can be worked on. Men are naturally born to cheat. Look beyond this flaw and focus on how he treats you.”

She went further to write;

“Good morning guys. I read many comments from my last post and I couldn’t stop laughing. It’s funny that it’s women who are answering for their men that the men don’t cheat on them. My sisters, let the men answer for themselves. The truth is a bitter pill to swallow.

You cannot answer for people. I stand by my position 100%. I know that as a modern woman, we aim to break away from the norm and be as westernised as possible but believe me, it happens everywhere. It’s only those who got caught that are referred to as offenders. Not many men can sincerely say they have been with only their partner for 10yrs without “playing”. It doesn’t make them bad people, it just makes them men.

Photo: Billionaire Kidnap Kingpin, Evans’ Fake Passport Surfaces, Other Information

Following the arrest of billionaire kidnap kingpin, Chukwudubem Onwuamadike popularly known as Evans, more information about the arrested criminal mastermind has surfaced.

According to latest documents made available by the Nigerian Police, the notorious kidnap kingpin obtained his Ghanaian passport with a fake name.

The Nigerian Police in a copy of the Ghanaian passport recovered, Evans obtained the Ghanaian passport under the false name Asare Nelson.

Evans was reported to have obtained the passport on January 10, 2013.

The latest information comes after the billionaire kidnap kingpin had confessed to being a drug trafficker adding that he left the business when one of his clients shot him. He further revealed that the drug trafficking business led to his colon cancer after one of his parcels burst inside of him.

The Nigerian Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris had earlier on Tuesday revealed that a joint effort and intelligence sharing between Ghanaian authorities and the Nigerian Police Force led to the arrest of the notorious kidnap kingpin.

Ibrahim Idris further revealed that the notorious kidnapper has a Ghanaian passport and cautioned the Ghanaian authorities to tighten modalities for the issuance of passports.

He said: “Nigerians are celebrating the arrest of the Ghanaian-Nigerian. Ghanaian because he has a Ghanaian passport something you guys have to look at.”

Information so far about the arrested criminal mastermind reveals that he has made over $7billion from the kidnapping business and was a one-time drug trafficker cum thief.

Evans is reported to have three mansions and was reported to have relocated his wife whom he reportedly transferred the sum of N20 million to four days before his arrest to Ghana along with his six children because of the nature of his job.

Onwuamadike reportedly owns two houses in Accra; one of them, a duplex located at Spintex, an Accra metropolis where his wife, Mrs Uchenna Precious Onwuamadike lives with their children.

Apapa-Wharf gridlock may lead to fuel scarcity, NUPENG warns

The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has expressed concern over the gridlock being experienced by petroleum tankers and articulated vehicles as a result of the ongoing reconstruction on Apapa-Wharf road, Lagos.

Tokunbo Korodo, the south-west chairman of the union in an interview with NAN in Lagos on Thursday, noted that the gridlock may result in fuel scarcity.

According to Korodo, since the inauguration of reconstruction of the road, petroleum tanker drivers had been on cue, finding it difficult to gain access to the tank farms to get products.

He said that the tank farms within the Apapa Marine Bridge road received petroleum products from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) which was to be distributed by petroleum tankers to different parts of the country.

He however said that the reconstruction of the road would affect movement of articulated vehicles to the port, adding that it was also taking its toll on tanker drivers as they now find it difficult loading at tank farms in the area.

“The reconstruction work on Apapa Wharf Road will affect loading of our petroleum tankers at the depots,” Korodo said.

“Since the inauguration of reconstruction works, our tankers have queued up on the roads finding it difficult to gain access to tank farms.

“Even queuing of articulated vehicles, going to the port have blocked the access road and tankers have been on the same spot for three days now.

“We want to apply to NNPC to use its System 2B distribution channel to pump products to its depots in Mosinmi, Ejigbo, Ibadan, Ilorin and Ore so that most of the tankers will stop coming to Apapa to load.

“It is irrational now for tankers to come and load at Apapa tank farms because the access roads are blocked and traffic is the order of the day.”

Korodo called on NNPC to address the lingering issues before it degenerates into fuel scarcity, adding that the delay in getting petroleum products to filling stations would be seen as lack of products.

The federal government had on Saturday handed over the road to Dangote Industries Limited and Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc for immediate reconstruction with a concrete overlay.

Dangote had said that the poor state of the road costs the economy N20bn daily.

“The economy loses more than N20 billion daily. It affects businesses across the country. All our operations in the hinterland in Ilorin, in Kano are operating at 40 per cent maximum capacity,” Dangote said.

“Today, there is no linkage road going from South West to the North. You have to go all the way through Ajaokuta, Obajana, Lokoja and you have to go by that uncompleted road Obasanjo started 13 years ago.

“Both Dangote and Flour Mills are pumping in over N2.5 billion for the 2 kilometres double lane on each side making a total of 4 kilometres.”

Actress Juliana Olayode AKA “Toyo Baby” Finally Opens Up On Beef With Funke Akindele

The removal of Juliana Olayode popularly know as Toyo Baby from Funke Akindele’s Jenifa series, raised so many eyebrows and different people suggested different things all geared towards the duo having a misunderstanding!

The both parties have remained coy on this matter until today, Juliana decided to break the ice in what she captioned “The Relationship Between Jenifa And Toyo Baby Uncensored”.

Read the post below:

Thank you for choosing to read this post. It hurts when people spread lies about you and you cannot do anything to defend yourself. But thank God for a platform like this. I would be saying a lot of things; it would be a long read but I promise you would enjoy reading.

I would be stating in clear terms the relationship I had with Aunty Funke. I used ‘had’ and would be talking in past tense because like you know, I am presently not on the Jenifa’s Diary series. And guess what? The news just broke lately, but I have been off the series since May, 2016 (last year); it’s been over a year already.

My post would be in two parts; who Aunty Funke was to me (Juliana), and then, who I was to her. These are things only few people know but I am ready to let the world know.

Yes! I will start with her. Why? She’s an amazing person and I can’t wait for you to know how lovely she is on a one-on-one basis. We all have our flaws but we choose rather to celebrate our strengths. Here goes!

Aunty Funke to Juliana!

Aunty Funke met me for the first time at the auditions of Jenifa’s Diary (she did not know me prior to that day). She saw my talent and believed in me. I worked with her for years; she trained me and helped me in becoming a better actress. She would not take anything short of excellence from her cast. I honestly have not seen anyone in Nollywood more hard working than Aunty Funke. And she made it a duty to correct me and coach me on being better.

Aunty Funke helped pay my mum’s hospital bill for a fibroid surgery, two hundred and fifty thousand naira (N250,000), because I had no money at that time. She also gave to the ministry dear to my heart, MINE Teenage Ministry when we were preparing for an event, one hundred thousand naira (N100,000) and my pastor called to appreciate her. So apart from my pay as an actress on the series (which I won’t mention), that’s all I received from her money-wise, asides from change she gave me for transport when leaving set because as at then, I used to jump bus, ‘keke’ and bike to and fro set up until I left the series…lol. But in all, God used her to meet that major need in my life at that time.

I fondly remember the times Aunty Funke would call me to her room while I was staying in her house (during set), and talk to me. She would take her time to advise me and encourage me as regards life in general. One particular day I treasure was the day she came to the room I stayed and told me, in a mother’s tone that I was beautiful and she warned me sternly never to bleach. I smile whenever I remember that. God bless her kind heart!p

Aunty Funke never ceased to celebrate me. Knowing how excellent she is at what she does (acting), I was shocked, elated and excited all at once the day she told me I was a good actress. She told me I would be great and celebrated. She saw years ago what is happening today. I am thankful for her words.

Juliana to Aunty Funke!

I was privileged to be the one holding Aunty Funke’s bag while on set. I ‘kept’ the money we spent on day-to-day running and was required to balance account afterwards. I don’t like Mathematics, so that was a lot of work…lol. Money was never unaccounted for in my keep. I ran errands for Aunty Funke and made sure all that was needed was supplied.

On set, on some occasions, when I was not acting, I was fanning and dabbing the faces of other actresses (including extras). So, this is for those that have accused me of being proud. Please ask those I fanned and dabbed while preparing to go on set later. On some occasions, I also did my own makeup and that of some other cast. All I wanted to do was SERVE; I wanted every set to be a success.

On set, there were different occasions I served cast and crew (plus extras) food and water. At some points, I joined in washing plates when the plates were not enough to go round. And times I was not acting, and I saw the ‘Mamas’ needed help, I joined them in washing plates. They are alive to bear witness.

I hardly forget things I memorised, so I knew the continuity of major characters on the set. Aunty Funke used to ask Costumiers to confirm costumes with me. On some occasions.I had to go to set earlier than others and leave later than others to sort out costumes, including wigs and other accessories. I looked forward to doing it and never once complained

I could not drive while on Jenifa’s Diary set, and I still cannot…lol but I woke up early on different occasions to wash Aunty Funke’s car. The times I didn’t wash, I dusted the car. She is a neat person, so I made sure the inside of the car and the boot were tidy and clean. For me, it was pleasure serving Aunty Funke.

I lived with Aunty Funke while set was on, so I counted it my duty to clean the house. She lived in a duplex at Chevron at that time, so I cleaned the entire house. Sweeping and moping from room to room. Scrubbing bathroom after bathroom. I arranged wardrobe after wardrobe, laid one bed after another. You would not know any of these if I am not saying this. I did all this with joy. She was special to me and you serve those you love.

Aunty Funke is neat and very tidy and she does professional drycleaning. But there were times she needed a dress washed urgently and I helped her wash. Please don’t accuse me of being proud or rude to Aunty Funke again. I SERVED her WHOLEHEARTEDLY.

Some of my fond memories with Aunty Funke are the times I cooked for Aunty Funke. I enjoyed cooking for her. I followed someone who lived with her then (name withheld) to market on different occasions to buy things we used to cook. Please note, I had a home of my own. I stayed with Aunty Funke only when we were shooting except times she specifically asked me to come over.

I learnt how to massage with Aunty Funke; I learnt on the job…lol. I knew she was usually tired when we got back so it was my pleasure to relieve her; she sometimes slept off while I massaged her. There was a day we were on location and we did not take the oil. Someone offered oil but as I held it, my spirit was not at peace. So, I bowed my head and prayed over the oil. I did not know Aunty Funke was watching me. When I opened my eyes, she asked what I did and I told her. Her response was “O se oko mi”, translated, “thank you my dear”.

There were different times Aunty Funke called me to pray on location, and sometimes at home. There was a time I gave her a Word of Knowledge. I had a dream once, I told her, and it happened the next day. I fasted and prayed with Aunty Funke and her sister. She called me to pray with her at midnight at some points. She knew from the onset that I was a Christian and that I was committed to prayer. There were different times we both prayed and asked God to give us sponsors. So, for those that have accused me of being “holier-than-thou”, that is the real me o! Everybody on every set I have gone, including Jenifa’s Diary, know I am unapologetically sold out to Jesus. I am not ‘deceiving’ anybody. That is my ‘real face’…lol

I had the pleasure of sitting and gisting with Aunty Funke at different points, whether at home or in the car. We would talk about the script. She sometimes had inspirations in the car and she would ask me to write it down so she doesn’t forget, and she would ask my opinion. I treasure those moments. Interestingly, there was a day we were talking at the house and her husband was there. I talked about loving High School movies and Musicals. I said I wondered why we didn’t have such in Nigeria. Then, we all started talking. JJC Skills even ‘drafted’ me into it already but we were just talking lightly. It is my joy that “INDUSTREET” is a reality today!

Let me stop here! So, with these few points of mine, I hope I have been able to convince you and not confuse you that you shouldn’t believe everything you read until you hear from the source.

Your question now is, what happened? Hmmm! We had a misunderstanding and I cannot disclose what happened without Aunty Funke’s permission. But if you read all I said in the post, you would gather that we were quite close. And when two people get that close, misunderstandings are bound to occur.

All I have said, you can confirm. 100% truth and UNCENSORED!!!

So, it is God, who saw my faithfulness and commitment, Who is rewarding me and announcing me to the world. Dear aspiring celeb, please SERVE and not seek to be served.
