Armed Robbers Enters Lords Chosen Pastor’s Office To Cart Away Money…. Then This Happened

Two days before the just concluded TheLords Chosen Ondo State State Crusade (MY STORY MUST CHANGE), some unknown persons broke into the State Pastor’s office to cart away the money kept there for the running of the programme but God of Chosen blindfolded them and they were unable to see the money that was so glary to any body that enters the office.

Now, on Monday night after the crusade, they came boldly again because they believed pledge was made in the programme, but this time around, God was not ready to show them mercy again since they didn’t learn their lessons in their previous attempt.As the workers and leaders gathered for their usual vigil, while prayers were going on, the state pastor came out of his office but it was unusual of him. Immediately, He Sang a song which goes thus;

“Covenant keeping God,
There is no one like You.
Alpha and Omega,
There is no one like you.”

He made reference to the just concluded crusade – (MY STORY MUST CHANGE) AND PROCLAIMED THAT OUR STORY HAS INDEED CHANGED. Shortly after that statement, some armed men came to attack the church with their weapons and as they surrounded the church compound, 3 of them quickly entered inside the church. On seeing them, all the brethren declared themselves Chosen (I Am A Chosen – 3 Times, just according to the instruction of the General Pastor – that they should declare themselves Chosen, that they shall see the glory of God in action.

All of a sudden, they became powerless and they took to their heels, while running, one of them fell into the gutter and was apprehended by some of The Chosen Mopol Brethren. He was later handed over to the police at B Division, Oke Aro. The name of the police head that the case was handed over to is ASP ENEBELEM.

Alleged Billionaire kidnapper Evans Pleads Guilty in Court

The suspected billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans, has pleaded guilty to conspiracy and kidnapping before a judge of the Ikeja High Court.

Evans and five others were arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy and kidnapping.

The judge ordered that all the male defendants be remanded at Kirikiri Maximum Prison while the female defendant, who pleaded not guilty to all the charges, be kept at the Kirikiri Female Prison.

He adjourned till October 19.

Earlier on Tuesday, a Lagos Division of the Federal High Court adjourned till September 5 to hear arguments from Evan’s lawyer and police lawyers on why he should not deliver judgment on the fundamental rights application brought by Evans.

Justice Abdulaziz Anka had initially fixed Tuesday to deliver judgment on the suit but a lawyer to the Inspector General of Police and the Nigeria Police Force, David Igbodo, appearing for the first time since the hearing began, said he had filed a counter affidavit before the court.

“It will be an injustice for judgment to be delivered without hearing our own side,” Mr. Igbodo, Commissioner of Police (Legal Section), said.

Later, when he spoke to journalists outside the courtroom, Mr. Igbodo said police investigation into the Evans’ case was “almost complete.”

“The case is a very controversial one, it is a sensitive case,” he said.

“The Inspector General of Police devoted time, efforts, intelligence, and strategies to ensure that he was arrested. He beat strategies for the past six years. When he was arrested, it took time for the police to complete investigations and very soon, Nigerians will be made to know what is the next line of action for Evans.”

Mr. Igbodo dismissed claims of the police not having the authority to detain Evans saying they had obtained a remand order from a federal court to hold the suspect in their custody for three months.
“The Inspector of General of Police is a lawyer, in the first instance. He is somebody that respects the rights of every citizen,” he said.

“He has been organising conferences and seminars for the Nigeria Police, both investigators and prosecutors, to make sure nobody is kept in custody beyond 24 or 48 hours without an order of a court of competent jurisdiction.

“The Inspector General of Police cannot keep Evans without a court order, there is a valid court order that is still subsisting as I speak with you for three months. You know Evans was arrested on the 10th of June; since when he was arrested till now, it’s not up to three months.

Strike: ASUU boycotts meeting with fed govt

Members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, on Tuesday, were absent at a meeting called at the instance of the Federal Government over the lingering industrial action in universities.

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Sen. Chris Ngige, had called for a meeting in Abuja with ASUU leaders, Minister of Education, among others on effort at revolving the lingering strike embarked by the union.

It would be recalled that members of ASUU embarked on indefinite strike on Aug. 13, following government’s failure to implement the agreement reached in Nov. 2016.

ASUU, on Aug. 17, had met with the officials of the Ministry of Education and Labour and Employment where it was agreed that the union should consult and revert back to government within a week.

ASUU demands include the disputed registration of the Nigerian Universities Pension Management Company, fractionalisation of salaries in Federal Universities, gross under-funding and non-funding of State Universities.

Others are arrears and implementation of Earned Academic Allowances, release of fund for revitalisation of public universities as spit out in the 2013 Memorandum of Understanding, among others.
According to Ngige, “today we are supposed to have a formal meeting with the Minister of Education and other stakeholders in the government side and ASUU.

“But we had some new development, which made it mandatory, that we roll over this meeting to the next day.

“Because the government as you know on Aug. 18 gave ASUU an offer, through the Ministry of Education and yesterday when ASUU got back to us, which was late, the meeting has already been scheduled.

“ASUU had gotten back to government to say that they needed us to deliberate on their counter offer before we can have a formailised meeting,” he said.

The minister said that with the new development, government acceded to it by calling for a meeting with stakeholders in the government side on their offer.

He noted that it was only after the meeting that government and the union would then have a reconciliatory meeting to further discuss the areas of disagreements or the union’s new demand.

“That is the position we are now and as I speak, we are having a government side meeting that is being held in my office while the Minister of Education is at another point having a meeting.

“We will reconcile into a full government meeting by 3 p:m today and then formalised our position and look at the ASUU request.
“Then, tomorrow is FEC meeting and we also need council approval for some of the things we are doing.

“This is what government has decided, thereafter we would speak with ASUU either tomorrow or Thursday whichever is convenient to both parties, ‘’he said.

Also, ASUU president, Mr Biodun Ogunyemi, in a signed statement said the union had collated the views of its members submitted to government on Aug. 28.

“As we await the Federal Government’s action on our letter, we hope that it would not be long before we receive a positive response which will bring an end to the dispute.”

Ogunyemi called on government on the need to speedily address the issues in the best interest of the Nigerian University System and for the overall development of the country.

He commended Nigerians, especially the students and parents for their understanding.

Arsenal reject £50m from Manchester City for Sanchez

English Premier League side Arsenal have rejected a £50 million bid from rivals Manchester City for Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez.
.
.
Sanchez, who scored 24 Premier League goals for the Gunners last season, is out of contract next summer and has reportedly said he wants to play for City manager Pep Guardiola.
.
.
Arsenal have rebuffed all approaches for the 28-year-old, and would like City’s Raheem Sterling as part of any deal before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
.
.
But Guardiola, who was in charge at Sanchez’s former club FC Barcelona, is understood to want the Chilean as a straight purchase.
.
.
England forward Sterling has featured in all three of City’s games so far this season.
.
.
However, the 22-year-old is not guaranteed a starting role at Etihad Stadium following the summer arrival of Bernardo Silva from Monaco.
.
.
Sanchez had joined Arsenal from FC Barcelona in 2014 for a fee of about £35 million and won the FA Cup for the second time last season.
.
.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger had said few weeks ago that Sanchez would “respect” his decision and stay.
.
.
The Chilean made his first appearance of the season in the Gunners’ 0-4 defeat at Liverpool on Sunday, coming off for Alexandre Lacazette after 62 minutes.

Hajj: Second timers to pay additional 2,000 Saudi Riyals – NAHCON

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) on Tuesday said that from next year Nigerians wishing to perform Hajj for the second time would pay additional 2,000 Saudi Riyals based on new policy introduced by Saudi Authority.

The Executive Chairman of the commission, Alhaji Abdullahi Muhammad, disclosed this at the Pre-Arafat meeting with stakeholders organised by NAHCON in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

Muhammad said the policy would enable Muslims who wished to perform the exercise for the first time to actualise their religious obligations.

He said the commission would continue to ensure that state pilgrims welfare boards had given priority to first timers.

He described 2017 Hajj as a unique one because it came with many challenges, adding, “but with the support Allah, the commission is able to overcome it.”
According to him, despite the increase in hajj fares, 65,000 pilgrims were registered through the states, while 16,200 pilgrims came to Saudi Arabia through Private Tour Operators.

He said there was increase of over 10,000 pilgrims compared to the number of pilgrims that perform the exercise in 2016.

He said four Nigerian pilgrims had lost their lives since the beginning of the exercise, adding that the commission had recorded one delivery and a miscarriage.

Muhammad, however, did not disclose the identity of the pilgrims that died, stressing that NAHCON would first inform the families of the deceased before releasing their names to the public.

The chairman also said that the commission had made necessary arrangement to ensure smooth movement of pilgrims to Muna.

The Charge ‘d’ Affairs, Nigerian Embassy, Riyadh, Amb. Salisu Umar, stressed the determination of the embassy to assist NAHCON and Nigerian pilgrims to ensure successful Hajj Operation.

He appealed to the pilgrims to respect the rules and regulations of Saudi Authority.

Umar also advised the pilgrims to drink a lot of water to avoid dehydration because of the harshness of the weather.

Dr Aliyu Tanko, Team Leader, Taradudiyyah and Jamara’at Arrangement, said Saudi Authority had introduced digital technology at Jamara’at whereby buses conveying pilgrims to Muna are installed with GPS device.

He, therefore, urged the pilgrims to comply with the innovation by turning out to the buses in time for easy movement.

Arewa Youths Can’t Fool Us With Withdrawal— Niger Delta Agitators

Niger Delta agitators, yesterday, described the withdrawal of the quit notice issued to the Igbos resident in the North by a coalition of northern youth as an attempt to hoodwink Nigerians. They said that it was also laughable to announce the withdrawal alongside a call to revoke the bail conditions of the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.

Rising from a meeting where they evaluated the developments, the agitators rejected the withdrawal of the notice in its entirety.

They also accused the Federal Government and the northern governors of conniving with the Arewa youths in issuing the Igbo quit notice.

In a statement after the meeting, the agitators maintained their earlier stance which demanded the departure of northerners and Yoruba of the South West from the Niger Delta region before October 1, 2017.

Those who signed the statement included General John Duku (Niger Delta Watchdogs and Convener, Coalition of Niger Delta Agitators); General Ekpo Ekpo (Niger Delta Volunteers); General Osarolor Nedam (Niger Delta Warriors); Major-Gen. Henry Okon Etete (Niger Delta Peoples Fighters); Major-Gen. Asukwo Henshaw (Bakassi Freedom Fighters); Major-Gen. Ibinabo Horsfall (Niger Delta Movement for Justice); Major-Gen. Duke Emmanson (Niger Delta Fighters Network); Major-Gen. Inibeghe Adams (Niger Delta Freedom Mandate) and Major-Gen. Ibinabo Tariah (Niger Delta Development Network). The agitators also insisted that all oil blocks in the coastal area given to a former President, former military heads of state, amongst other personalities should be returned to them. They also reiterated their resolve to resume attacks on all oil installations from September 10 and warned all onshore and offshore workers to leave the area. They said: “The recent gathering of the Arewa Youths in Transcorp Hilton, Abuja to announce the suspension of the quit notice issued to Igbos in the North is one action that glaringly shows that government and security heads from the North were the brains behind the earlier announcement.

“It is laughable that the Arewa Youth group thinks it can fool the rest of Nigerians, particularly those of us in the Niger Delta part of Nigeria, by replacing the quit notice with call for the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu.” Today the Federal Government has met-up the demand of the Coalition of Northern Youth Groups by filing a motion in court to revoke Nnamdi Kanu’s bail.”

Why I Forgave Kemi Olunloyo - Seyi Law

Nigerian blogosphere wouldn’t forget in a hurry the messy drama that played out between popular comedian, Seyi Law, and controversial journalist cum blogger, Kemi Olunloyo, when the latter went on the Internet to claim that Seyi’s daughter is obese.
However, the duo have finally reached a truce as they both took to their social media pages to declare a ceasefire.
In a chat with Sunday Scoop, Law explained why he decided to bury the hatchet. “I didn’t have anything personal against Kemi Olunloyo; I only responded as a father because I would do anything to protect my daughter. Kemi recorded a video in which she begged my daughter to forgive her and that’s okay by me. It means she understands that she did something wrong and she is trying to make amends,” he said.
Explaining why he is not staging his comedy show, Fast and Funny this year, he said, “I have been very busy lately and as a result of that, I haven’t been able to work on organising the show. Though I have a team that works together with me in planning, my schedule hasn’t made it convenient for me.”
The rib cracker also stated that his family never put him under pressure during the time he and his wife were trying to conceive. He said, “I can tell you categorically that my mother never asked me why my wife wasn’t pregnant. Don’t forget that we lost our first pregnancy so it wasn’t as if she hadn’t taken in before. My wife’s mother was also very supportive. The only thing they did was to constantly pray for us. We were even the ones that were concerned at a point.”

I admit we have failed Nigeria, the younger generation – Dino Melaye

Nigerian senator representing Kogi West in the National Assembly, Dino Melaye, has admitted to failing Nigerians along with other politicians in the country.
.
.
The controversial politician admitted to his failure while speaking as a panelist at The Osasu Show Symposium held in Abuja on Friday.
.
.
Speaking during the event, Dino Melaye said: “When you speak the truth, you die, when you lie, you die; so it is better to speak the truth and die. I may sound very unpopular but I will speak the truth.
.
.
“Apart from militocracy, politics is responsible for poverty and hunger in Nigeria. Unfortunately, we the leaders, myself inclusive, have failed this nation and have failed the younger generation myself inclusive.”
.
.
The politician added: “the reason why we are where we are today is because there is a disconnect between leadership and followership. As I speak to you, the problem why we are where we are is because of trust. There is no trust between the governed and those governing.
.
.
Once there is no trust between the followership and the leadership, it will definitely have a negative concomitant effect on the economy, and every other facet of our national life.”
.
.
Melaye on the panel stated tharbthe problems Nigeria is faced with is not the political parties in the country. He maintained that “hunger and poverty have no political party, hunger and poverty have no religion. To have brought people to discuss on the line of APC or PDP is not correct, because the poor PDP man and the poor APC man all go to the same market.”

Buhari must spend eight years in power despite all obstacles – Yoruba monarch, Oluwo of Iwo

Oluwo of Iwo kingdom in Osun State, Oba AbdulRasheed Akanbi who recently blasted the Resume or Resign protesters saying they do not wish the country well has dropped another bombshell.
.
.
Fondly called ‘Emperor Telu’, the monarch organised a special interdenominational prayer for President Buhari at the Oluwo Palace yesterday where he said, ‘As I have prayed for Buhari today, new life has come for him. He must spend eight years in power despite all obstacles from opposition’.
.
.
He continued to say “It is painful that those who launched that campaign of ‘Resume or Resign’ are not patriotic as they claimed. They politicised the campaign which shouldn’t be. Buhari is my son and I won’t be happy when people are wishing him dead. If any civil servant or police officer falls sick, will you advise them to resign? Those who are clamouring for Buhari’s resignation are not sane. Nigerians don’t love those that love them but they are passionate about those that hate them. “All those who are wishing him dead and those who are clamouring for his resignation shall fall sick”.
.
.
At the prayer session, president of Christian Association of Nigeria in Iwo, Caleb Ayoola, led the Christian prayer; the Chief Imam of the town, Abdulfatai Olododo, led the Muslim prayers while Ojetunde Ajibowu led traditionalists in prayers.

.
.
“It was this disclosure that led to the revelation that the suspect has been having sex with her and two others whenever their parents are not at home,” Mr. Oyeyemi said.
