‘My Father Conducted Deliverance For Me After BBNaija’ – Debie Rise

When Debie Rise’s dad opposed her participation at the 2017 Big Brother Nigeria reality TV show, he was not joking at all. This, the singer has just revealed in new interview.

Recall that during the show, Debie revealed that she ran away from home to be a part the show because her religious dad opposed it. During the show, her father called Big Brother, demanding that the singer be sent back to Nigeria. When asked if she wanted to go back, Debie said “no!”.

Many people worried for her after the show ended, and luckily, when she called him upon her return to Nigeria, her father reaffirmed his love for her.

However, the ordained pastor took his disgust for the reality TV show to a new high.
In her interview with Channels TV, the singer said her father went as far as conducting a deliverance session for the singer, by laying hands on her to ‘cast out’ things he assumed she must have gotten during her stay at the house.

Here’s what she told Channels TV:

““I Ran Away From The House, That Was Mean But I Knew What I Wanted. When Popsi Found Out, It Wasn’t Funny, I Had To Assure Him That At The End Of The Competition, People Will Congratulate Him For Being A Good Dad.

“When I Came Home They Asked Me To Kneel Down So They Can Cast Everything From Me But At The End Of The Day, I Have Heard So Many Women Say, I Want My Daughter To Be Like Debie Rise. I Thank God For How Everything Turned Out.”

Jibrin blasts Reps over his resumption from suspension

Suspended member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin has lambasted spokesman of the House, Hon. Abdulrazaq Namdas over his comments on his date of expected return from his suspension.

Recall that the lawmaker was suspended last September for 180 legislative days.

Namdas had reportedly insisted that Jibrin was yet to complete his suspension and that Jibrin would have to apologise to the lower chamber as a condition for his return to the chamber.

Reacting, Jibrin in a statement Thursday night by his media aide, Godwin Onyeacholem, blasted Namdas.

He said the comments were “insensitive and insult to the people of his constituency, coming on a day Kiru/Bebeji constituents gathered to further deepen their protests and mark a one year of brazen impunity and injustice meted on them and the member representing them (who it is a public knowledge committed no offence).”

”For the avoidance of doubt, I wish to state that Hon. Jibrin’s position on this issue remains, as always, immutable. He has maintained that denying his constituents representation for one good year is unconstitutional and negates all known democratic principles, just as asking him to apologize for doing no wrong is a negation of all known social norms.

“It is somewhat weird that the official spokesman of the House claims that he does not know the exact date that Hon. Jibrin’s purported suspension would lapse. That in itself speaks volume of the subterfuge and sinister motives around the whole issue.

“Hon. Jibrin is aware of sacrifices required during struggles like this. He is therefore prepared to make whatever sacrifice for the good of the House of Representatives and Nigeria as a whole, so that posterity will remember him on the good side of history.”

Nigerian Cows, Worst Milk Producers Globally - Ogbeh

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, has said cows raised in Nigeria are the worst milk producers in the world.

He said an average cow in the country produces less that one litre of milk per day compared to those from other countries where a cow could produce 100 litres per day.

Ogbeh said this at the 79th anniversary of Ikoyi Club 1938 in Lagos on Thursday.

According to the minister, an average cow in Holland produces a minimum of 50 litres of milk per day, while in the United States, milk production per cow can rise to over 100 litres.

He said moving cows from place to place was a major problem affecting meat and milk production in Nigeria, stressing that the earlier farmers started developing ranches for cows, the better it would be for the cow market and its entire value chain.

“An average cow in the US drinks an average of 100 litres of water per day; but in Nigeria, I doubt whether a cow can get two litres of water per week,” Ogbeh added.

The minister also stated that the country accounted for 67 per cent of the world’s yam production, adding that there were more opportunities for Nigeria to grow its share of the market, valued at $12bn, given the over 50 million hectares of land lying fallow in the country.

To give the agricultural sector a major boost, he said the Bank of Agriculture would soon be restructured so that every local government in the country would have at least a two-room branch.

University of Ibadan resume academic and commercial activities

University of Ibadan have resumed academic and commercial activities after a six-week strike by Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

The students have started receiving lectures, while administrative offices were also open for operations.

Non-academic staff members were seen in their various offices while businesses in the university were full of activities.

Some students, who spoke with NAN, expressed happiness at the suspension of the strike.

They thanked ASUU and the Federal Government for fruitful dialogue which led to the suspension of the strike.

A first-year law student, Miss Oluwadamilola Salako, told NAN that she was happy when ASUU ended the strike.

Salako said that she was bored at home.

“I was expecting a prolonged strike and was happy when ASUU stopped the industrial action.

“I hope that the academic calendar has not been fully disrupted,’’ she said.

A fifth-year student of electrical/electronic engineering, Mr Alo Oluwabamise, also expressed delight at the development.

He, however, said that ASUU strike had become recurrent.

“The last ASUU strike took almost six months. “All I know is that, for a better education system, the present administration should work toward the total overhaul of the sector.

“Strike does not help in any way; it only brings setback. I do not blame ASUU for whatever agitation because the union’s demands are genuine,’’ he said.

When contacted, the university’s Director of Communication and Publications, Mr Olatunji Oladejo, said that the management would soon announce an adjusted academic calendar.

NAN reports that the university management had in a press release signed by the Registrar, Mr Olu Olujimi, informed the general public, especially students, that second-semester lectures began on Tuesday.

Lecturers in public universities, under the aegis of ASUU, embarked on what they described as a total, comprehensive and indefinite nationwide strike on Aug. 13.

The lecturers protested non-implementation of the 2009 agreement and the 2013 Memorandum of Understanding it entered into with the Federal Government.

The union suspended the strike conditionally on Sept. 18 after dialogues with a Federal Government delegation headed by the Minister of Labour, Dr Chris Ngige.

“The invading Soldiers who had direct contact with the Applicant on this fateful day (14 th day of September 2017) should be in a position to produce the Applicant before the court. It is either the Respondent’s rampaging Soldiers abducted the Applicant during this raid or must have killed him in the process.

“Section 40 of the Federal High Court Act empowers this Court to Order that a Writ of Habeas Corpus ad Subjiciendum; (A Writ directed to someone detaining another person and commanding that the detainee be brought to Court) be issued on the Respondent, to produce the Applicant in Court, particularly now his substantive criminal trial is coming up on the 17 th day of October, 2017.

Mother Caught Having Affair With Daughter’s Husband

A mum having an affair with her daughter’s husband allegedly tried to run him over when their romps were exposed.

Kathleen Davis, 58, is said to have told cops she wanted to kill Michael Sciarra, 33, after he admitted the sordid affair to his wife, Davis’ daughter.

Police reports suggest Davis flew into a fit of rage after realising the affair had been outed and drove to his home in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, to confront him.

She allegedly started throwing eggs at his car and house before driving in “donuts” in a bid to “mow him down” when he went outside to tell her to stop.

One officer in the case reported seeing Mr Sciarra running away from Davis’ Mercedes in a desperate attempted to avoid being hit by her.

Mr Sciarra claims he feared for his life as she chased him and was nearly hit “several times”.

Davis was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon over the incident on September 20.

She was held for two days at the Palm Beach County Jail before being released on a $3,000 bond.

Mr Sciarra apparently claims he had split from his wife Hannah before he started seeing her mum.

Earlier this year he was arrested for domestic battery after he “flipped out” at their family home in front of their two kids Andrew, two, and Gabriel, six.

Hannah told cops he attacked her after she confessed to cheating on him with another man.

Mr Sciarra later admitted to cops they had a “verbal altercation” but denied physically assaulting her.
