World Cup 2018: Russia Announces Team Squad



The 2018 World Cup hosts, Russia have announced their team squad in preparation for the tournament.

The Russian national team managed by head coach Stanislav Cherchesov removed 6 players from the initial provisional list.

The players removed on his final selection are Soslan Szhanaev, Aleksandr Tashaev, Fedor Chalov, Ruslan Kambolov ,Neustadter and Konstantin Rausch.


Below are the Russian 23-man World Cup squad:

Goalkeepers: Igor Akinfeev (CSKA Moscow), Vladimir
Gabulov (Club Brugge), Andrey Lunev (Zenit St Petersburg)

Defenders: Vladimir Granat, Fedor Kudryashov (both Rubin
Kazan), Ilya Kutepov (Spartak Moscow), Andrey Semenov (Akhmat Grozny), Igor Smolnikov (Zenit St Petersburg), Mario Fernandes, Sergey Ignashevich (both CSKA Moscow)

Midfielders: Yuri Gazinskiy (Krasnodar), Alan Dzagoev, Aleksandr Golovin (both CSKA Moscow), Aleksandr Erokhin,
Yuri Zhirkov, Daler Kuzyaev (all Zenit St Petersburg), Roman Zobnin, Aleksandr Samedov (both Spartak Moscow), Anton
Miranchuk (Lokomotiv Moscow), Denis Cheryshev (Villarreal)
