Father Of The Year! See The Creative Thing A Man Did To Put His Child To Sleep (Photos)

A father in China has come up with a creative way to sneak in a power nap while being put on daddy duties.

The exhausted man, filmed lying on a bed with his infant son, drew a pair of fake eyes on his eyelids to make the child believe he was still awake.

The quick-witted father even put on a recording of him singing a nursery rhyme to help put the baby to sleep.

The baby, thinking he still has his father's full attention, is also filmed dosing off comfortably as the adult takes a stealthy nap with tissue stuffed in his ears as earplugs.

Saraki Explains What Made Him Lose Election

Senate President, Bukola Saraki

Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has revealed how he lost his third term re-election bid to the chamber.

According to the Kwara Central senator, inadequacies, including Card Readers not used in over 70 per cent of his polling units, multiple voting, over-voting and other discrepancies, aided his defeat.

He stated that in spite of the reported inadequacies that attended the presidential and National Assembly elections in Kwara State, he wishes the candidates who emerged from the election the best of luck.

Saraki, in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, stated that while the election was generally peaceful, he still had issues with the outcome.

He added that the state chapter of his party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), will take a position on the right response to these inadequacies.

“However, whatever the final outcome of the election, I wish the candidates that have emerged all the best in their attempts to serve our people. It is my prayers that the good people of Kwara state will always have the best from any government both at state and federal levels.

“As a product of a family and a political structure that is, from its foundation, devoted to the service and development of our state and its people, it is my wish that our people will always have a good deal at all times. The new development will even provide the people the opportunity to compare and contrast. After all, the people who have emerged from last Saturday’s election are not my enemies. They are fellow Kwarans.

“As we prepare for the March 9, governorship and House of Assembly elections, let me reiterate my position that the candidates of the PDP in the election represent the best materials for our dear state, Kwara.

“Therefore, I enjoin our people to come out en mass on election day and vote for them. I am going to work with our party leaders to further sell the PDP candidates to the public.

“I thank all Nigerians for their goodwill and to enjoin all of us that as we patiently await the outcome of the Presidential election, we pray for peace, unity and genuine development in our country. It is also our prayers that, at all times, the wish of the people would always prevail in the choice of the leadership and the electorate will always enjoy the benefit of good governance,” Saraki stated.

Drama As PDP Refuses To Sign Presidential Election Result Sheet

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday refused to sign the result sheet of the Presidential election which was announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja.

INEC declared President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) re-elected haven won the highest votes of 15,191, 847 votes to defeat his closest rival, Atiku Abubakar of the PDP who polled 11,262,978 votes.

Buhari won in 19 states while Atiku won in 17 states and the Federal Capital Territory

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the PDP Agent, Mr Osita Chidoka, left the hall at the National Collation Centre when the INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu started calling on party agents to come forward to sign the result sheet.

Chidoka, who was a former Minister of Aviation, in an interview with journalists on his way out said that the party does not accept the election result as representing the valid votes of Nigerians, due to three issues it earlier raised by the party.

He said that the party that expected INEC would have projected the result of what the Smart Card Readers card readers used for accreditation of voters.

“The second one is the issues we raised about the number of registered vis-à-vis if what the chairman now calls collated voters means that 1.6 million people are missing in the voter register.

“We think that the issue is substantial enough to require a resolution.

“We also believed that difference between the accredited voters and the total votes cast which came to about 750,000 votes, requires an issue to be looked at.

“Finally, we believe that INEC needs to look at the cancellations that took place in the election impacting 2.7 million.

“So, in our view, this election needs to looked at again and possibly we would have had a re-run, more importantly.

“We think that INEC should have looked consciously to the use of the card reader, the absence of card reader is a major violation in the elections, it renders that election null and void, and that is what the chairman promised us.

“So, for us in the PDP, we believe that this is a new law in Nigeria’s electoral history.’’

Chidoka, however, said that the PDP remained a very lawful party, saying “we believe in the law, we believe in the constitution of Nigeria.

“We are committed democrat. The PDP is a party that entrenched democracy in Nigeria. The PDP is the party that made it possible for Nigeria to enjoy the fruit and dividend of democracy.

“We will continue to support democracy in Nigeria, we will continue to promote democracy in Nigeria but we have a good message for Nigerians.

“We want them to remnants peaceful, we will explore all our options, including the believe that the legal process in Nigeria is one of the way to resolve issues.’’

Chidoka had earlier raise a concern about the not usage of card readers for the election in some places, while calling on INEC to provide the details of number of accredited voters with card readers.

He also expressed concern in disparity in the number of registered voters for states, while also calling on INEC to restore votes of the party alleged to have been cancelled.

Meanwhile, Yakubu, responding before the announcement of the result said that the difference in the valid votes and cancellation were insignificant to impact on the general outcome of the election.

He said that observations raised party agents PDP would be useful for the future, elections, including those of 2023.

Yakubu said that while the commission notice the figures of accredited voters in relation to the vote cast were not adding up in one or two instances, preliminary investigation revealed the disparity cumulatively was actually less than two per cent.

“Secondly, we also very strongly believe that the wide spread incidents of ballot box snatching, particularly in many areas after voting means that you have data on the smart card reader but not backed up by actual ballot because the ballot was either hijacked, burnt down or destroyed.

“Therefore the information on the smart card reader is slightly to be higher than the actual ballot, meaning the vote cast but this is only by way of preliminary investigation.

“Yes, we believed that there have been cancellations; however in the case of presidential election the cancellations do not affected the conclusion of the process. ‘’

Yakubu added that disparity in the figure of did not also affect the total number of thousands who voted in the election, as they are well below the number of PVCs collected.

“The voter turnout for the 2019 general elections from the analysis we just concluded is 35.66 per cent.’’

"I Did Not Work For Atiku" – Dele Momodu Hit Back At Reno Omokri

Dele Momodu, has again hit back at Reno Omokri, the former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, over his call for a presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar to make a congratulatory call to President Muhammadu Buhari. We had reported that Momodu on Tuesday gave the advice apparently referring to the ongoing announcement of last Saturday’s presidential results by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Omokri hit back, telling Momodu that he should have sent the advice privately.

However, Momodu has now listed 10 results why he sent out the tweet.

“My dear Reno, I’ve read your tweet. Please let me say a few things for the record:

1. I did not work for Atiku, I only volunteered as I did for Buhari in 2015. I never interacted with his campaign office

2. The PDP Chairman, Uche Secondus publicly rejected the results yesterday.

3. The last time I met or spoke to the Wazirin was before PDP primaries but I supported him and still do with all my heart

4. My tweet was not meant for his private consumption but for his huge and passionate followers like me…

5. I learnt many lessons from the June 12 saga!

6. I felt the tension being generated by the rejection of the polls even before the end of the exercise

7. I consider it pertinent to avert the imminent danger occasioned by the reckless misadventure of the Buhari government and its operatives during these elections…

8. My intervention is only an appeal and advice to the Wazirin and his supporters. You gain more when you embrace peace when people expect you to fight

9. Atiku is free to head to court but I doubt if Buhari will obey any outcome, if unfavorable

10. Where then do you go? GOD,” he tweeted

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has closed the sale of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination forms.

The board’s Head of Media, Dr Fabian Benjamin told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that the sales of the forms, ended on Thursday.

Benjamin, however, said that online registration was still ongoing.

Benjamin said, “This is because some people earlier bought e-pins for the exams but were unable to register before now, so we are monitoring them online and would avail them the opportunity to register.

”Therefore, we cannot give the exact figure of the registered candidates for now until this is over. ”

He added that the registration would continue until the board decided.

NAN reports that the board had commenced the sale and online registration of 2019 to 2020 UTME forms on January 10 and was scheduled to end on Feb. 21.

On the issue of rescheduled dates for both the mock and main examinations, Benjamin said that the board was yet to decide on a new date but would give updates as soon as possible.

NAN reports that the board considered rescheduling the initial dates for the examination because of the shift of dates for the general elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Speaking also on the suspension of 17 Computer Based Test (CBT) centres across the country, Benjamin said that the suspension would not, in any way, affect the process of the examinations as the board had over 700 accredited centres nationwide.

Court Orders The Arrest Of Ex Super Eagle Star, Jay Jay Okocha Over Tax Evasion Offence

Image result for Court Orders The Arrest Of Ex Super Eagle Star, Jay Jay Okocha Over Tax Evasion Offence

A Lagos Division of the Lagos State High Court in Igbosere has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of former Super Eagles star, Austin Okocha, over tax evasion charges.

Jay Jay Okocha has repeatedly failed to appear before the court to answer why he allegedly failed to pay his income taxes.

Adedayo Akintoye, the judge, issued the warrant for the arrest of the former Eagles captain on January 29 and thereafter adjourned until February 19.

However, on February 19, the prosecution had not effected the arrest forcing the judge to, again, adjourn till April 15 and ordered that the warrant is executed by then.

The football star is facing a three-count charge instituted by the Lagos State Ministry of Justice bordering on failure to furnish his income returns and nonpayment of tax.

The state filed the charges through its prosecutor, Jide Martins, in June 2017 and the suit began four months later.

The defendant, however, had failed to appear in court.

After several adjournments without Mr Okocha appearing despite having been served the court papers, Mr Martins prayed the court to issue a bench warrant for his arrest.

According to the prosecutor, Mr Okocha had failed to furnish his income returns for tax purposes to the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service.

Mr Martins also said that the defendant had failed to pay his income taxes.

He said the offences contravened Sections 56 (a) and (b) of the Lagos State Revenue Administration Law No. 8, 2006 and Section 94 (1) of the Personal Income Tax Act Cap P8, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.

BREAKING News: PDP Senator Arrested For Murder

Senator Rafiu Ibrahim

A Peoples Democratic Party lawmaker, Senator Rafiu Ibrahim has been arrested by officers of the Nigerian Police Force over the killings of 4 people.

Ibrahim represents Kwara South Constituency in the Senate. His arrest is coming a day before the 2019 General elections. Hon. Muideen Abdulrahman, Chairman, PDP Kwara South Youth Forum, raised the alarm in a statement Thursday night.

The Statement read:

“The reason behind Senator Ibrahim’s arrest is currently unknown and reminiscent of last year’s arrest of Kwara PDP leaders in Kwara South constituency during the bye-election.

As at the time of this statement, Lola Ashiru, the candidate of the APC for the Kwara South Senatorial District, was holding a late-night rally, where he celebrated the arrest of Senator Ibrahim stating that the party had the “full support of the Government at the center.

We, the youths of Kwara South Constituency, hereby call on the international community, specifically, observers who have come to witness the February 23rd election, to take note of the partisan and irresponsible antics of the Nigeria Police Force. We also call on all well-meaning Nigerians to join us to call for the release of Distinguished Senator Rafiu Ibrahim, who is known as a peace-loving and highly-performing legislator who always puts the needs of his constituents first and foremost.

Additionally, we call on the Acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, to cease and desist from utilising institutions of state from harassing leading political figures in our state.

Elections are not do or die affair, hence, all candidates should be free to test their popularity at the polls without fear of intimidation by men of the Nigerian Police who are sworn to ‘serve and protect’ all citizens irrespective of their party affiliation,”
