Meet The Himba Tribe Who Don't Take Baths And Offer Free S*x To Guests

Himba Tribe

They give s*x for free to their guests and also they adorn newborn with bead necklaces.

As if these are not enough, the tribe lives in isolation and is wary of external contacts.

The people work hard to ensure that their beliefs and culture is not contaminated in any form by outsiders.

You can see why we are curious to know this people who have not accepted civilization.

The Himba people are predominately livestock breeders and farmers while their women are preoccupied with gathering firewood, cooking and serving meals and sourcing for freshwater.

Some of the villagers are socially inclined and very religious, reversing and worshiping their ancient gods.

Polygamy is welcome and young girls are married off at their early ages.

Though polygamy is not peculiar in Africa, it is practiced widely on the continent.

However, not taking their bath is strange. Before you are taking aback, the reason why they don’t bath with water is because of the harsh climatic situation in their region.

The Himba people lives in one of the most extreme environments; the harsh desert climate and the lack of potable water are the reasons why this tribe have difficulty getting a bath.

Their lack of bath routine doesn’t mean that they look less pretty. When you find them on their traditional attire, they look great while some have their bodies exposed like the women.

Since the taking of a bath is difficult, they make use of the red ochre on their skins and then make use of a daily smoke bath in order to maintain their hygiene.

A shouldering charcoal is dropped into a bowl filled with herbs and the smoke is allowed to ascend and the people bow over this smoking bowl and because of heat, the body perspires and helps in washing the body.

The people are friendly to strangers and visitors but will not allow any interference in their culture.

Shocking! Snake Charmer Killed By King Cobra Bite While Showing Off His Skills To Villagers (Photos)

The man was bitten by the snake

A show-off snake charmer was killed after a king cobra bit him twice during a performance for neighbours.

The man, named Norjani, caught the reptile a week ago and kept it locked in his wooden hut for use in traditional medicine. He brought it out to show locals in West Kalimantan, Indonesia, but the snake grew increasingly angry as it was hit and spun around.

Norjani could be seen laughing at the five-metre-long reptile as it hissed and attempted to make a break for freedom. It then lunged at him and plunged its deadly fangs into the handler’s arm.

Norjani waved away residents who came to help and continued with the bizarre routine, which was caught on video. The king cobra then bit a second time on the healer’s face but he still continued smiling while doing his performance.

More than two hours after the 4pm performance, Norjani began to feel sick and was taken to hospital where medics gave him anti-venom. However, the cobra’s poison had already spread throughout his body and he was pronounced dead later that evening.

Norjani’s devastated family then killed the king cobra by chopping off its head, an act they believe would avenge any evil spirits.

Police said that Norjani – who claimed to be the best healer in the Mempawah district –had a reputation for risky behaviour with animals.

Police Chief Dede Hasanudin said: ‘It is true that Norjani, or Nek Tadong as he was also known, was bitten and killed by the snake.

‘At around 6.30pm the victim was taken to the clinic located in Menjalin District and was treated, but it was too late to save him.

‘He was buried the next day and the family of the dead man killed the snake.

‘Residents in the village knew that the victim used to keep many animals, including cobras.

‘He was also good at treating people with traditional techniques and was known in the village as a shaman.’

The king cobra is found throughout southern Asia and is one of the most deadly species of snake in the world.

Bite victims suffer swelling and redness around the wound, difficulty breathing, vomiting and nausea, blurred vision, sweating and salivating and numbness in the face and limbs. Anyone who is bitten must try to remain still to slow blood circulation and prevent the venom spreading around the body.

A tourniquet can also be used at the site of the bite to stem venom flow until the victim can reach a hospital to receive anti-venom. Cobra bites are responsible for thousands of deaths each year in the region.

Meet The 75-year-old Foster Mum Who Raised 600 Kids

Linda Herring's foster kids

A foster mom who raised more than 600 children in the past 50 years has said she loved all of them “like they were my own”.

Linda Herring, 75, has devoted her adult life to fostering kids from Johnson County, Iowa, never turning a child away.

Herring was known by everyone for never turning away a child, no matter their age, gender, or special needs and would regularly travel to collect them.

The story of her selfless devotion to helping vulnerable kids emerged when she was honored by the Johnson County Department of Human Services' Board of Supervisors with a resolution of appreciation for fostering more than 600 children in the community.

Johnson County's official Twitter account shared a copy of the resolution, which stated: “The Department of Human Services could call Linda in the middle of the night to take a child, and she would meet anywhere to get a child.”

According to the resolution, from the 1970s Herring mostly fostered children with “special medical needs”.

''I kept doing it because I had so much love to give to these children in need''

Bins in her garage were filled with clothes and "stacked to the ceiling, labeled by size and gender".

Her philosophy throughout was "If no one else can love them or take care of them, I will".

Grandaughter Amber Herring told Today: “My grandma has always put everyone else before herself.

"She had been my hero since I was just a little girl and am so thankful I get to have her as my grandmother.

“It takes a special person to open their heart and home to children.

“It has been a lifestyle for them that not everyone can do, but their dedication to children in need has always been evident."

She added: “They simply provided them love when the kids needed it most.”

He wrote: "He claims to be prophet. He said whoever won 2015 presidential poll would not rule. He said El-Rufai won’t win in Kaduna. Later, he said the man would die within a time. El-Rufai is well and alive. Is that one a prophet? Fake. It’s not me that says so, it’s the Holy Bible.

"It was however speculated by some social media users that he was referring to Apostle Johnson Suleman."

Kobe Bryant's Death: Investigators Seek Answers To Chopper Crash

Kobe Bryant

Investigators will continue after sunrise Tuesday to sift through the wreckage of Kobe Bryant’s ill-fated helicopter that crashed in California, killing the former NBA star, his daughter and seven others on board, as they try to answer both the why and how of the accident.

An 18-member National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) team, assisted by FBI forensic specialists, began mapping the wreckage site Monday with drone aircraft and examining debris scattered across the hillside where Bryant’s chopper went down on Sunday.

Los Angeles County coroner’s investigators, working alongside aviation NTSB inspectors, said they had recovered the first three bodies collected from the crash site and were searching for more remains.

Officials said that they would be on the scene for about five days collecting perishable evidence and would not draw any conclusions in the near term, also noting that the craft was not equipped with a flight data recorder called a “black box.”

In a sign limited visibility was of particular interest to investigators as reports indicated foggy conditions, NTSB board member Jennifer Homendy appealed to the public to come forward with any photographs that might help document local weather conditions at the time of the crash.

But Homendy told reporters that weather was just one factor.

“We take a broad look at everything in an investigation - man, machine and the environment. And weather is just a small portion of that,” she said at a late-afternoon news conference in Calabasas, California, about mile from the crash site, roughly 40 miles (65 km) northwest of downtown Los Angeles.

Bryant, who won five National Basketball Association championships in his 20 years with the Los Angeles Lakers, was known since his playing days to travel frequently by helicopter to avoid the Los Angeles area’s glacial traffic.

In addition to the charismatic 41-year-old and his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, three other families linked to the Mamba Sports Academy perished on their way to a girls’ basketball tournament: a husband and wife with their 13-year-old daughter; a mother and her 13-year-old daughter; and a basketball coach who was also a mother.

The ninth victim was the pilot, Ara Zobayan, an experienced former flight instructor who was instrument-rated, or qualified to fly in fog, according multiple media accounts.

The company that owns the chopper, Island Epress Helicopters, said the pilot had more than 10 years experience and has logged more than 8,000 flight hours.

Witnesses recounted thick fog over the foothills where the helicopter went down. The fog was so bad that both the Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department grounded their helicopter fleets, the Los Angeles Times reported, citing officials.

Air traffic controllers gave the pilot “Special Visual Flight Rules,” or clearance to fly in less than optimal weather around the Burbank airport.

A Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) official noted a pilot “does not get a general, or blanket, clearance from the FAA to fly in these conditions. A pilot is responsible for determining whether it is safe to fly in current and expected conditions.”

The NBA canceled a game scheduled for Staples Center on Tuesday between the Lakers and their crosstown rivals, the Clippers, as fans mourned.

SIM Card: Court To Hear Suit Against DSS, Buhari’s Daughter Feb 12

Justice Nnamdi Dimgba, Hanan Buhari, Anthony Okolie

Justice Nnamdi Dimgba of a Federal High Court sitting in Asaba, Delta State, has fixed February 12, 2020, for the hearing of a suit filed by a trader, Anthony Okolie, against the Department of State Services and the daughter of the President, Hanan Buhari.

Okolie’s lawyer, Tope Akinyode, who is also the National President of Revolutionary Lawyer's Forum, told The PUNCH on Tuesday that the matter would be coming up next month.

“The case has been assigned to Justice Nnamdi Dimgba and it will come up on February 12, 2020,” he said.

Recall that Okolie had sued the DSS and Hanan as well as service providers, MTN, jointly and separately for N500m.

The suit, with number FHC/ASB/CS/3/2020, is seeking an order to “compel the respondents (DSS, Hanan and MTN) jointly or severally to pay the applicant the sum of N500, 000, 000 only as general and aggravated damages for the gross and unlawful violation of the applicant’s right to acquire moveable properties, freedom of movement and self-dignity”.

The PUNCH had reported that the 33-year-old man said in a supporting affidavit that he was arrested on July 19, 2019, in Asaba, Delta State for using a telephone line that was previously owned by Hanan.

According to him, he remained in custody, bound by handcuffs till September 22, 2019, as the DSS waited for Hanan, who was schooling in the United Kingdom, to come clear him but she never did.

Okolie also attached the receipt he was issued after purchasing the SIM card as well as the SIM certificate.

The affidavit read in part, “That on December 8, 2019 at Ogbeogonogo Market, Nebu Road, Asaba, Delta State, I purchased a SIM card with Phone Number: 09035666662 at the sum of N1000 only and I received a SIM pack with accompanying documents as a result as evidence of purchase receipt.

“That in line with relevant regulations, I approached a kit operator of the 3rd respondent (MTN) named Jeff who captured my biometric and registered the SIM card in my name and on my behalf.

“That in July 2019, I visited my business associate at his residence in Asaba and saw him being taken away by officers of the 1st respondent (DSS). During the process, they obtained information from him on who he communicated with last over the phone and my associated announced that it was me.

“That immediately afterwards, officers of the 1st respondent (DSS) arrested me and led me into their vehicle asking me to keep quiet and drove me to their offices in Asaba, Delta, State.

“That after a while, they disclosed that my arrest was ordered by the Presidency and I had to be taken to Abuja for further interrogation upon which basis they drove me to Abuja, FCT by road the following day.”

The applicant stated that he explained to the DSS how he bought the SIM card but he was informed that the phone line which is linked to his SIM card was once used by Hanan.

“They thereafter labelled me a criminal for using a phone line that previously belonged to the 2nd respondent (Hanan Buhari),” he said.

Okolie alleged that because of the personality involved, his case file was tagged, ‘first family’ and he was denied access to his lawyers.

The trader claimed that his mother, who was not allowed to see him, developed high blood pressure while he lost a N5m business deal.

Faces Of Mother And Son Sentenced For Duping American $82,570 (Photo)

Mrs Damilola Ahmed Adeyeri and her son, Alaba Kareem Adeyeri

The Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday sentenced Mrs Damilola Ahmed Adeyeri and her son, Alaba Kareem Adeyeri, to 12 years’ imprisonment each for duping an American of $82,570.

Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke convicted the duo following their plea of guilty to four counts of “fraudulent trick business email compromise” during their arraignment on Tuesday.

He sentenced each defendant to three years’ imprisonment on each of the four counts filed against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The judge said the sentences would run concurrently.

This means Mrs Adeyeri and her son will spend a maximum of only three years in correctional services custody.

EFCC counsel Bilikisu Buhari told the court that mother and son conspired with one Kareem Russell, still at large, to defraud the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of American Cranes Manufacturing Company.

She said they committed the offence in June 2017 and were arrested on September 6, 2019.

The prosecutor said Mrs Adeyeri and her son carried out the fraud by “dishonestly representing yourselves as the CEO of American Cranes Manufacturing Company and thereafter you sent an email from [email protected] with intent to gain advantage to yourselves.”

She the convicts acted contrary to Sections 27(1)(a) and 23(3) of the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc) Act, 2015 and were liable to be punished under Section 22(1) of the same Act.

The offences were also said to have been contrary to sections 421 and 422 of the Criminal Code Act Cap C38.

Buhari also called an EFCC investigator, Idi Musa as witness.

Musa testified that sometime in April 2019, the commission received a petition from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of America, stating that the official email address of American Cranes Manufacturing Company was hacked and the sum of $82, 570. 00 was lost to the fraudsters.

He told the court that the FBI reported that there was a syndicate of fraudsters who defraud companies through business e-mail compromise and obtain millions of dollars from American citizens.

Idi said Damilola was arrested on September 6, 2019, after which his mother was apprehended when she went to withdraw money from the bank upon hearing that EFCC was investigating her son.

She purchased properties in the name of her son with the money made from the fraud.

The court heard that the monies stolen by the convicts were used to acquire properties in choice areas of Lagos, and some cash was also found in their bank accounts.

Before sentencing, the prosecutor pushed for the judge to apply the maximum sentence possible on the convicts to serve as a deterrent.

Responding, Justice Aneke agreed that although the convicts immediately admitted guilt and showed remorse, he had a duty to apply punishment in accordance with the law to serve as a deterrent to others.

But he said he would temper justice with mercy because the convicts, by pleading guilty immediately, had saved the court’s time.

“Consequently, I hereby sentence each of the convicts to three years on counts one, two, three and four. The sentences are to run concurrently,” Justice Aneke held.

The judge further ordered that all the properties and monies recovered from the convicts be forfeited to the Federal Government and upon applications by the victims, be restituted to them

Hajiya Fatima Adamu has rescued a day-old baby girl dumped by an unidentified mother by the roadside along Kuta Road, opposite Central Mosque in Minna, Niger.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the baby was brought to the Niger State Child Rights Protection Agency office in Minna on Tuesday.

Adamu while speaking to NAN said that the baby who was wrapped with a wrapper and dumped by the road side was discovered by some children playing around the scene.

According to her, she was called by her neighbours to the scene where the baby was dumped.

She said that when she got there, she saw people gathered around where the baby was dumped.

“I inquired from them and they told me that an unknown woman disembarked from a motorcycle and dumped the baby there.

“Everybody at the scene was afraid to touch the baby.

“They said that they did not see the woman that dumped the baby but the children that were playing around the scene saw her.’’

She added that the children said that the woman disembarked from a motorcycle and dropped something on the ground that was shaking.

“It was the children that immediately informed their parents but before they could come out from their houses, the motorcycle had zoomed off with the woman.’’

Adamu said that the women quickly alerted others within the neighbourhood about the development.

She also said that a member of a local vigilance group living in the area helped her to pick the baby from the spot.

She added that they then reported the matter to the Central Police Station.

“The police officer on duty collected the baby and promised to bring the matter before the Child Rights Agency that handles issues about children and women’s welfare, “she said.

Also, a police officer, Mrs Hassana Usman, who was on duty at the station, confirmed that the woman and a member of a vigilance group brought the abandoned baby to the police station.

Usman added, “When they came to the station with the baby, I noticed that the baby had not been bathed after birth.

“It was as if the mother just gave birth to the baby and immediately dumped her at the spot where she was rescued.

“I appealed to a woman that was living close to the police station to assist me with hot water.

“I bathed the baby because I suspected that she had been left in the cold and was not feeling well.’’

The female police officer added that she had to take the baby to the hospital on Sunday since those who brought her to the station did so on a Saturday night.

She said, “The baby has been under my care since that Saturday night and have to bring her to the Child Rights Agency office on Tuesday, “she said.

Mrs Mairam Kolo, the Director-General of the Niger State Children Rights Protection Agency, appealed to the general public to assist the agency with useful information on the identity of the mother of the baby.

“Also, any member of the public that knows any woman who was pregnant; and was delivered of a baby in the last three days but has not been seen with a baby to report to our agency.

“This will enable us to identify the mother and bring her to justice,” she said.

Kolo said that the agency would work with the police and the Ministry of Women Affairs to investigate the matter.

She commended the woman for saving the life of the innocent baby.

Ifeanyi Ubah’s Results Confirmed By NECO

Senator Ifeanyi Ubah

The National Examination Council has confirmed that Senator Ifeanyi Ubah passed seven out of the eight subjects he sat for in 2003.

The Head of the Department of Legal and Board Affairs of NECO, Comfort Kolo, stated this in a letter she addressed to the National Secretary of the Young Progressives Party, Vidiyeno Bamaiyi.

The letter with reference number NECO/R/LGS/V. 20/006, and dated January 23, 2020, was obtained by our correspondent in Abuja on Monday.

The examination body said the letter was in response to YPP’s request, seeking details of Ubah results.

NECO said Ubah was given a statement of results in June 2003 containing the subjects he passed and the grades.

The results are English Language (C6), Mathematics (C6), Government (C6), Economics (C5), Literature in English (C5), Commerce (C5) and Christian Religious Studies (C6).

The body said biology was not included in the statement of results because Ubah scored F9 in it.

The Senator, who briefed journalists on the issue in Abuja on Monday, said his accusers approached the court with a copy of his statement of results which indicated that he failed biology.

Ubah, who said he was studying law (400 level) at the Baze University, Abuja, added that he sat for the examination in 2003 at Cardoso High School, Ajeromi/Ifelodun, Lagos.

He said, “I am happy that NECO has cleared my name and vindicated my innocence of the charges preferred against me at the FCT High Court.”

Ubah is battling to retain his seat at the Senate after he was sacked by the court over certificate forgery.

Mixed Reactions As Lagos Bans Okada, Tricycles In 15 Local Councils

File Photo

The Lagos state government yesterday proscribed the operations of commercial motorcycles (Okada) and tricycles (Keke NAPEP) in six Local Government Areas (LGAs), nine Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) and 10 major highways across the state with effect from February 1.

The state government directed security operatives to embark on a total enforcement of the State’s Transport Sector Reform Law of 2018 to immediately address the chaos and disorderliness created by illegal operations of Okada and tricycle riders in restricted areas. Besides, the government also banned Okada and tricycles from plying 40 bridges and flyovers across the state.

Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, who made the announcement at the State House in Alausa, said the measures were taken in response to “scary figures” of fatal accidents recorded from operations of Okada and tricycles in the state between 2016 and 2019.

He said: “After a robust assessment of the debate on what has been widely referred to as the motorcycle (Okada) and tricycle (Keke) menace, the Lagos State Government and the State Security Council have decided that the security and safety of lives of Lagosians are paramount. The figures are scary. From 2016 to 2019, there were over 10,000 accidents recorded at the General Hospitals alone. This number excludes unreported cases and those recorded by other hospitals. The total number of deaths from reported cases is over 600 as at date.

“Also, the rate of crimes aided by Okada and Keke keeps rising. They are also used as getaway means by criminals. Therefore, after consultations with stakeholders, the State Security Council, in compliance with the extant Transport Sector Reform Law 2018, has decided to commence enforcement of the law which bans the operation of Okada and Keke in six Local Government Areas and nine Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).”

According to the Commissioner, operations of Okada and Keke NAPEP have been banned in Apapa LGA, Apapa Iganmu LCDA, Lagos Mainland LGA, Yaba LCDA, Surulere LGA, Itire-Ikate LCDA, and Coker-Aguda LCDA. Others are Ikeja LGA, Onigbongbo LCDA, Ojodu LCDA, Eti-Osa LGA, Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA, Iru-Victoria Island LCDA, Lagos Island LGA and Lagos Island East LCDA.

Lagosians yesterday took to social media to react to the development. Those against the policy felt the government did not take into consideration the frustrating traffic situation in areas like Apapa before taking the decision.

One Uche Fortunate, who claimed he worked at Apapa said: “Okada ban in Apapa? This seems laughable. Apapa, from Mile 2 to Warehouse road has not been motorable for years due to terrible roads and over subscription by articulated trucks that stay up a full month before they can cover a 10 minutes drive. How do you expect people go to work?”

Joseph Onyeanu said the government should have first provided alternative means of transportation before the total ban, wondering what will become of commuters who would be stranded at bus stops. “It cannot be a right move without measures to cushion the effect of this. There are no sufficient vehicles to convey the many commuters who will hang around bus stops,” he said.

Supporters of the ban said it would reduce accidents and other dangers associated with motorcycling, adding that the menace of the riders would also be curtailed. Sele Ijewere said he would love to see the policy implemented in Surulere but added that there might be resistance from the union.

One Ademoray said: “Fantastic move, about time we stopped being selfish and started thinking about tourism/tourists/visitors in our midst. Even for our own sanity in Lagos, which is now on the cusp of Yaba left. This madness and disorienting disorganisation on our roads need to give way for order.
